I have a half idea of resuscitating this blog.
Still not completely sure, though.

Free download is truly cool. But going to concerts and buying records is cool as well.
So download everything you find, you're free to do it. Then, when there's something you like pretty much, you should better go at that band's live shows (unless that band called it quits). And buy records and merch.
Oh, and start your own band. For it's cool to play in a band. It's not me saying this: it's Mike Watt of Minutemen. ;-)
